Sublimation

Equipment: Sawgrass SG500

What is sublimation printing? It’s the transition of a substance directly from a solid state to a gas state. It does not pass through the usual liquid state, and only occurs at specific temperatures and pressures.

What does all that mean? I use a special printer with special ink to print onto special material, that is then transferred to the item to be sublimated on (tumbler, shirt, canvas, pen, etc. The ink becomes part of that material!

There are some limitations to sublimation printing such as it the materials that can be sublimated on (polyester being the best for clothing, and sublimation blank materials which are designed specifically for this process), and it can only be done on white (or very light) materials. There are some options to sublimate onto special transfer materials that can be transferred on darker materials but depending on the design, it is sometime much easier to go the vinyl route.

Laser cutting/engraving

Equipment: xTool M1

This machine laser cuts and engraves on items such as wood, acrylic, rubber, ceramic, stainless steel, food, leather, cork, painted metal, slate, glass, and Fabric.

It also has blade cutting capabilities on paper, vinyl, leather, sticker paper, kraft paper, cardboard, PVC, and fabric.

Cricut projects

Equipment: Cricut Explore 3

This machine cuts 100+ materials, writes, draws, scores & foils. Lots of things can be done with this machine! I use it a lot to make birthday/holiday cards, cut Heat Transfer Vinyl for clothing, lanyards, etc, and more. I also like to use it when I need something written out nicely. I have horrible hand writing and this machine can write in any font & size!

Design Capabilities

Software: Canva Pro, Cricut Design Space, SawGrass Design Mate

I keep a variety of software options giving me the capability to design in different ways.

I also buy a lot of designs from some very talented people on Etsy or other sites. These artists make their work available to use on products that I sell.

Quality of Products.

This is all more of an art than a science! There are so many factors that go into creating each piece of work. A sublimated design on one material may look different on another. Even the pressure applied to one piece may be a little different than the pressure applied to another. I will always do my best to make each product as perfect as I can.

Partial vs Full Designs & Pricing.

You’ll notice on the custom tumbler items there are options for partial vs full designs and different pricing. You’ll also notice some tumblers are more or less $ than others. Why is this and what does it mean exactly?

A partial design does not cover the tumbler completely from top to bottom. You will still see much of the white tumbler behind the image.

A full design covers the entire tumbler (or nearly covers it). A full covered design takes a lot of extra work to ensure the design fully covers the tumbler which is why it costs a little more.
